League Open Play
Welcome to League Open Play, Mah Birdie Bam's season-long American Mahjong league! Whether you're looking for a little friendly competition or simply a great place to play, League Open Play offers a welcoming community where players of all skill levels can learn, improve, and have fun together.
Whether you've just completed Mahjong 101 or you've been playing for years, there's a seat for you at the table. A beginner-friendly table is always available for players who would like extra support while building confidence.
How to Join
Step 1: Join TeamReach
TeamReach is the home of our League community! It's where you'll receive League updates, access private registration links, view the current leaderboard, join waitlists, and stay informed about upcoming League Open Play events.

Step 2: Register for a League Open Play Event
League Open Play registration is available exclusively through TeamReach. Simply use the private registration link shared in the group to reserve your seat.
Step 3: Play & Earn League Points
At each League Open Play event, you'll compete using official National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules. Your tournament score becomes your League Points, which are added to your season total and tracked on the League Leaderboard.
Step 4: Play as Often as You'd Like
There is no membership fee or season commitment. Join the league at any time and play whenever your schedule allows. Every League Open Play is a new opportunity to earn points and move up the leaderboard.
What to Expect
Every League Open Play includes:

You don't have to win an event to climb the leaderboard. Every point you earn contributes to your season total, so every game matters.
Race to 500 Challenge
From August 3 through October 31, 2026, players will compete to become one of the first five players to earn 500 League Points.
The first five players to reach 500 points will earn a place in the Winner's Circle and receive a special prize.
Eligible Events
League Points are earned only at League Open Play events.
